| THE “SEARCH” IS OVER... | GeoSearch, the leader in GIS recruitment solutions, has begun 2005 with new Sales and Marketing Plans. This Colorado-based company met with Global Marketing Insights, Inc. last year at a conference in Denver, Colorado where President, Jessica Touchard, began the process that lead to the Global Marketing team’s visit in December, 2004 to work with GeoSearch. While this successful company had a great many ideas and past successes during their 17-year history, the ideas sometimes resided in the head of Rich Serby, CEO. Working with a methodology provided by Global Marketing, the GeoSearch team was able to document and discuss Rich’s ideas, as well as contribute new ideas from the entire team. When the 2-1/2 day Sales and Marketing program had been completed, the excited (and a bit tired) GeoSearch team had their Mission, goals, objectives and tactics to move into 2005 and beyond in a more focused and aggressive manner. “GeoSearch, Inc. has been positioned well in the geospatial market throughout the years, and Global Marketing was able to help in the process of structuring the company to serve our clients better on a national level. 2005 is going to be a great year of growth for the industry and our company,” states Jessica Touchard, President of GeoSearch, Inc. | | | KEYSTONE AERIAL SURVEYS PERFORMS | Let’s hear it for the coach. Keystone Aerial Surveys’ owners Mary Potter, President, and Ken Potter, Vice President of Operations, sharpened their coaching skills by attending a workshop on Performance Coaching with Global Marketing Insights’ Senior Associate, Pamela Ziss. The Potters determined that they would like to know more about helping others to be the best they can be. The one-day Performance Coaching workshop provided the “shot in the arm” for which they were looking. The workshop reviewed the fundamentals for effectively coaching for improved performance by covering basic coaching and feedback skills, as well as reviewing the necessary means for communication through questioning and active listening. While Mary and Ken chose to be the first at Keystone to learn the Performance Coaching Skills, their plan is to offer the session to all Managers so the entire team will maximize their skills and their potential. Keystone Aerial’s growth and ongoing success has been driven by the focused commitment and enthusiasm of the team and their close “family” culture. As a part of their most recent growth, they added a Finance Manger to their team. The search for this individual was conducted with the assistance of Global Marketing Insights, Inc. Keystone Aerial wanted to find just the right match of skill, experience and attitude that would easily blend into their culture. After reviewing numerous resumes and interviewing a number of candidates, the finalists met with Mary and Ken and a decision was made. Mr. Anthony (Tony) Darpino joined the Keystone team! These two recent events have added to the already exciting activities in which Keystone has engaged.
| | | ALLPOINTS GIS HEADS EAST | Drew Stephens, President of AllPoints GIS in Boulder Colorado, and Director, Tom Dudley, headed east to Global Marketing Insight’s headquarters in Ohio to participate in executive training. The two-day intensive training session targeted building a marketing plan for effective trade show participation in the ESRI User Conference, as well as creating a plan for future show activity effectiveness. The executive team was also involved in fine tuning their own sales skills as they learned Strategic Selling Skills, a methodology focusing on communication, getting to the right person, and closing the sale. The Boulder boys enjoyed their stay in the greater Cleveland area with a trip to Jacob’s Field, home of the Cleveland Indians, for a baseball game and then on to Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Stephens said, “The session at Global Marketing was wonderfully informative and valuable for our current market position.” AllPoints GIS provides business and GIS training and consulting to natural resource companies and local governments, as well as assistance with FEMA’s HAZUS (hazard mitigation and assessment) software. The project is designed to focus and acquire research in the domestic and international remote sensing market sector. Surveys that were completed as of May 6, 2005 were analyzed and used to compile a first-look draft delivered to NOAA Satellite and Information Service on July 13, 2005. This research was collected at various tradeshows, conferences and online links generated by emails from both Global Marketing Insights, Inc. and their Alliance Partners network. Global Marketing Insights, Inc. has 20 alliance partners that are actively sending emails on a weekly basis and posting the survey link to their company websites. Of the 1100 surveys completed, the preliminary research report shows that the most popular questions concern political, economic, environment, and technical trends impacting the remote sensing industry in the years 2010 and 2015. In addition to selecting from trend lists, most respondents provided additional insight and comments with regard to these trends. The Government sector leads with a total of 30% in the Percentage of Surveys Completed by Category section, with Commercial End Users coming in second at 24%. Global Marketing Insights, Inc. will continue to collect surveys until September 1, 2005 through the on-line site and will focus on collecting over 100 personal interviews at the ESRI International Conference July 25 – 29, 2005. | | | GLOBAL MARKETING INSIGHTS, INC. COMPLETES MARKET RESEARCH FOR SPECTRUM MAPPING, LLC | Spectrum Mapping, a leader in LiDAR data processing, worked with Global Marketing Insight’s research team to assist in discovering a potential new line of business. | | | GEO VANTAGE SEES THE FOREST (from the trees) | GeoVantage, a provider of remote sensing solutions for dozens of major corporations, government agencies and municipalities for a wide range of areas such as forestry, agriculture, urban planning and environmental management applications, worked with Global Marketing Insights’ research team to expand their sales lead potential. Karen Renzi, Marketing Manager, provided an expanded database to GeoVantage’s sales team responsible for the forestry industry segment, by working closely with the research team at Global. This resulted in a more robust sales lead potential base, and a number of “hot leads” for the sales team’s immediate attention. Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Matthew Herring, provided ideas and input in the creation of a telephone interview that was used to contact new forestry managers, planners and consultants. This survey provided GeoVantage with detailed information that will assist the sales team’s efforts in making additional contact and potentially closing a sale. “Our sales team had a working database that they had been using effectively, however with the assistance of Global’s team, their time and effort can be focused on qualified leads, rather than spending time “cold calling”, said Herring. “These additional contacts will enable them to expand their sales activities with a greater likelihood of success.” GeoVantage leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver georegistered, orthorectified aerial imagery in full color and near infrared. Twenty-two state-of-the-art sensors composed of integrated GPS, inertial measurement units and 4-band digital cameras enable rapid response and worldwide geographic coverage. For more information on GeoVantage, visit their website at www.geovantage.com. .
